Zodiaque Dance Company is a pre-professional performance company requiring a full year commitment showcasing works by faculty and guest artists. Auditions are held early each fall and academic credit is earned. 2012-13 is our "1234....Countdown to Celebration 40".

Zodiaque Studio Dance Ensemble
Zodiaque Studio Dance Ensemble is a faculty directed and choreographed ensemble requiring a one-semester commitment. Advanced level student choreographers are invited to choreograph. Auditions are held early each spring and academic credit is earned for performers and choreographers.

This audition will only cast members for Zodiaque Dance Company (ZDC).
ZDC members make both a fall and spring commitment to the company.

SIGN-IN:     Beginning at 3:00 PM,  4 PM Orientation
PLACE:        Dance Studios  82 & 84

This audition will cast for members for Zodiaque Dance Ensemble (ZDE).

Note: to be considered for ZDE you must attend both auditions.

TIME:           4 - 9 PM

SIGN-IN:      Beginning at 3:00 PM,  4 PM Orientation
PLACE:        Dance Studios  82 & 84

All dance majors will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Appropriate dance performance aesthetics/physicality conducive to dance as a major or professional performance standards within the field
  • Positive attitude
  • Technique
  • Following instructions – a team player
  • Movement aesthetics and musicality
  • Potential for projecting the needed style
  • Potential for development and contributing to ensemble work of the company
  • Artistic maturity, talents and sensibilities
  • Improvisational potential
  • Creativity projected through the choreographic process
  • Versatility
  • Confidence and commitment to the work
  • The overall ability to reproduce dance combinations given by the dance panel presenters/adjudicators

Proper audition attire required, and appropriate hair and shoes for the discipline.

 

 

EMERGING CHOREOGRAPHERS SHOWCASE

Emerging Choreographers Showcase is faculty directed and mentored. Advanced level student choreographers are invited to present their work, and academic credit is earned.

AUDITION  -  BFA IN DANCE

DATE:             Thursday, August 30,  2012
TIME:              4:30 – 6 PM
SIGN-IN:         Beginning at 4:00 PM
PLACE:           Dance Studios  82 & 84

All prospective BFA dance majors and current BFA majors will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • A willingness to be invested in a BFA program
  • Appropriate dance performance aesthetic/physicality conducive to dance as a major or professional performance standards within the field

  • Movement aesthetics and musicality

Note: Incoming Freshman audition for the BFA in the first semester of their Sophomore year.
