FOUR DANCE CONCERTS
Theatre students audition and are regularly cast in all of the music theatre and drama productions; some have been cast in dance concerts as well. We also produce readings and workshops of new works of music theatre in development.
Auditions for the fall semester musical and dramas take place at the beginning of the semester. Auditions for the spring semester take place at the end of fall semester.
Dancers' Workshop is a student organization that offers non-credit performing opportunities for the university community. Various levels of ability are welcome.
This association is managed entirely by students. It focuses on unifying the Department's students and improving communication between students and faculty. It also strives to assist students in developing their craft through student-directed productions, workshops, and staged readings.
FROM THE WINGS
From the Wings is a student organization offering non-credit performance opportunities primarily, but not exclusively, to theatre majors. The group produces variety revues of songs, scenes, comic sketches, and dance every year. Music Theatre faculty members advise and mentor student directors.
Stage performance opportunities for Music Theatre students also include Opera Workshop, and University Chorus and University Choir. There are also performance opportunities in the Western New York professional theatre community, including at Musicalfare Theatre Company and the Irish Classical Theatre Company.
