Kate LoConti

Kate LoConti holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in Acting from Columbia University. Her areas of research include but are not limited to: Shakespeare, Chekov, Stanislavsky, Meisner, Biomechanics, Viewpoints, Multi-disciplinary Theatremaking, Freeing the Natural Voice, and the Theatre of the Absurd.


New York credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, First Look Festival's The Cherry Orchard and Monday Night Open Rehearsal Series' King Lear, DJ: A Remix of Moliere’s Don Juan(Classic Stage Company), Love: A Tragic Etude(Caracas-New York Collective), Training Wisteria(New York Fringe Festival), The Seagull, The Cherry Orchard, Waiting For Godot, Metamorphoses, and Woyzeck (Columbia University). Here in Buffalo, she has worked with Shakespeare in Delaware Park, Irish Classical Theatre Company, The Kavinoky Theatre, Studio Arena Theatre, Theatre of Youth, Buffalo United Artists, Road Less Traveled Productions, and is a founding member of both lightsedgetheatrecompany, and Caracas-New York Collective (www.juansouki.com). In addition she has performed in Spain, England, and Venezuela.


Kate teaches Basic Acting 108, Systems of Movement, and Intro to Theatre 101. She has directed both Spring Awakening and Melancholy Play for UB’s Poor Theatre Workshop.
